Hi my name is Amber Smith, before becoming a therapist, I spent a decade working as a police officer in San Francisco. These experiences strengthened my commitment to helping people navigate stress, build resilience, and create healthier lives. My time as a first responder also shaped my dedication to supporting those who work in demanding, high-pressure environments. I am trained in EMDR and value the way it can help individuals process difficult memories and move toward healing.
Outside of my professional work, I recharge by being outdoors in the forest and mountains, riding horses, and being absolutely silly with my rescue kitties Frankie and Puppy. I also volunteer with the First Responders Support Network.
In my practice, I strive to offer warmth, honesty, and genuine presence. I work to create an environment where you can express yourself freely and feel truly understood. Your experiences and goals will guide the direction of our sessions, and together we will explore what feels meaningful and supportive for you.
I use a collaborative, strengths-based methodology that allows our work to be shaped around your unique needs and strengths. Trauma, stress, emotional difficulties, relationship concerns, and the wish to grow in new ways are all welcome here. I’m here to partner with you as you move toward greater clarity and well-being.
